If you've followed us for a while we do everything in unison and with intention.
All of our books are based with common themes that unite all of them: music, family, history, literature, resilience and love.
That Great Getting Up Morning is a familiar Negro Slave Spiritual.
Lyris and I grew up listening to our beloved mother listening to and singing these songs. They gave her solace and peace. They give us history, memories and meaning.
Slave narratives become stories, poems & song/slave spirituals.
They are Black history. They are in part our shared family history.
We're reminded of what our grandparents and great grandparents overcame.
Lyris is part of me and I happily await her book portion of our profound family story.
