Black Woman

Mother of all humanity.

Taken from Adam,

literally fashioned by God.

Clothed in strength and honor.

Full lips lifting up her Black man and

guiding her Black children.

Skin, kissed by the sun, highlighting its natural,

smooth, rich melanin glow.

Hair, coiling in defiance to what was once called “beauty,”

redefined to all that she is.

Full breasts and round hips,

letting the world know she is the mother of all creation.

She moves in grace,

like the hypnotic melody of the wind.

She is the beginning,

the present,

and she is what is yet to come.

She is pride.

She is culture.

She is love.

She is truth.

For she is the Black Woman,

mother of all humanity,

taken from Adam,

literally fashioned by God.
